Hello again!
After some stormy weeks in Cologne, a few days of calm and sunny weather came to visit us. And to take advantage of this, I set up a short trip to a big lake: Dhünntallsperre.
After some stormy weeks in Cologne, a few days of calm and sunny weather came to visit us. And to take advantage of this, I set up a short trip to a big lake: Dhünntallsperre.
This lake is the biggest artificial lake is the west of Germany that has the purpose to provide drinkable water to almost half a million of people. By building a dam, a lake with the surface of 440 ha was created that also protects against floods. To get here you can drive for 40 km from the center of Cologne.
Being in Germany automatically makes this place interesting for nature lovers including ecologists, researchers and tourists. They have some nice hiking paths around the lake that encompass 40 km and many families bring their children along for some short walks. If you have your camera with you and the weather permits it, you can take some nice pictures here.

So, if you come this way give this lake a chance to show you some nice views. See you next time!
