Beside the fact that Tatort is the longest lasting crime series, you can also appreciate its structure. The episodes are unrelated, they last for 90 minutes and the action takes place in different cities. Each city has an investigation team and once every few weeks or months, the "action" takes place in one of the cities. The subject vary between social, psychological and economical ones and produce suspense and emotion.
Along that, the decor elements are important, you can see sights from every city and also the dialect. That makes the series a nice method to practice your German and hear the vocabulary used in different parts of Germany.
The film airs every week on Sunday evening and on Monday morning it is one of the most discussed topics: "Did you watch Tatort last night? Yeah, me too! Very cool! And did you know from the beginning who was the criminal? And why did he hide behind his wife? etc. etc."
I've been watching the series too for the last couple of months. Until now I find the team in Münster the funniest. Fortunately you can find the episodes also on Youtube or on the websites of the TV Channels.
So, next Sunday Tatort?
