In 2015 I published a top 10 fancy German songs from that summer. Among them was also a hip-hop song with a strong chorus. - KIZ feat Henning May - Die Welt geht runter.
I am deflecting a bit from the subject: I don't know if my generation was a bit strange, or I'm just the exception, but during my childhood and teenage I didn't watch too many musical clips. In this case it was the same. Firstly I heard the song and after that I got to see the clip. For the voice in the chorus I was expecting a solid older man, with the body to throw such a voice. What I saw was a skinny young guy.
Researching further I discovered the band that he had founded alongside two high-school friends. The band's named was formed by putting together their own names. In the beginning they played a lot on the street, and they say that this influenced the singer's voice. At a jam-session on the university's lawn they got to know their future bassist.

In 2013 they launched their first album on their Youtube channel. They did the recording themselves and put some of the songs they sang on the street on the album. In the summer of 2014 they went on tour, playing at some festivals.
Then they played their song Oft gefragt on the TV show Circus HalliGalli and so they secured their ticket to play at Rock am Ring in 2015. In the fall of 2015 they signed a contract with Universal Music Group. What an evolution... a few years ago they were playing on the streets, now they have sold out concerts. Well played! :)
