Today is a special day in Cologne. Today is the official opening of the fifth season, the Carnival. At exactly 11:11 on 11.11 the music will start and the people in costumes will sing and party alongside the musicians.

In the last 2 two years I've also been attending this vital event belonging to the city of Cologne. The November Carnival lasts only for one day, but it's very dense and prepares the people for the magical week in February.
